16 games to 18

I am sure many of you have heard the Commissioner Roger Goodell wants to extend the regular season from 16 games to 18, eliminating 2 preseason games.

For fantasy this has positives and negatives. A positive is a longer fantasy season or the worries of a player sitting during the fantasy playoffs would be eliminated. Negatives are the injury risks increase and multiple RB's would be required for most NFL teams (we all know how bad sharing carries can be on a fantasy team).

Call me old fashion but I like the way it is and HOPE they do not make this change. If we wanted long seasons we would watch any other sport.

Where the debates begin...

• Who will return and who will part ways with the league?
• Who will change team names?
• When will the draft be? 1st preseason game or 2nd game or even earlier?
• What draft strategy will everyone choose?
• Will we see another year of wide receiver 1st round picks or will we see defense? (we all know defense wins games)

No matter how different our opinions may be, one thing is for certain...we are all looking forward to the 2009 season.
